Fully gapped superconductivity with preserved time-reversal symmetry in noncentrosymmetric LaPdIn

چکیده

We report an investigation of the superconducting properties hexagonal noncentrosymmetric compound LaPdIn. Electrical resistivity, specific heat and ac susceptibility measurements demonstrate presence bulk superconductivity below $T_c$ = 1.6 K. The heat, together with penetration depth measured using transverse-field muon spin rotation tunnel diode oscillator based method, are well described by single gap $s$-wave superconductivity, a magnitude 1.8$k_BT_c$. From zero-field relaxation results no evidence is found for spontaneous emergence magnetic fields in state, indicating that time-reversal symmetry preserved. Band structure calculations reveal there relatively weak effect antisymmetric spin-orbit coupling on electronic bands near Fermi level, which consistent being negligible singlet-triplet mixing due to broken inversion symmetry. On other hand, isostructural LuPdIn LaPtIn do not exhibit down 0.4 K, may be these systems having smaller density states at level.

Time-reversal symmetry-breaking superconductivity in epitaxial bismuth/nickel bilayers

Superconductivity that spontaneously breaks time-reversal symmetry (TRS) has been found, so far, only in a handful of three-dimensional (3D) crystals with bulk inversion symmetry. We report an observation of spontaneous TRS breaking in a 2D superconducting system without inversion symmetry: the epitaxial bilayer films of bismuth and nickel. The evidence comes from the onset of the polar Kerr ef...

Detection of time-reversal symmetry breaking in the noncentrosymmetric superconductor Re6Zr using muon-spin spectroscopy.

We have investigated the superconducting state of the noncentrosymmetric compound Re6Zr using magnetization, heat capacity, and muon-spin relaxation or rotation (μSR) measurements. Re6Zr has a superconducting transition temperature, Tc=6.75±0.05  K. Transverse-field μSR experiments, used to probe the superfluid density, suggest an s-wave character for the superconducting gap. However, zero and ...

Evidence for time-reversal symmetry breaking in the noncentrosymmetric superconductor LaNiC2.

Muon spin relaxation experiments on the noncentrosymmetric intermetallic superconductor LaNiC2 are reported. We find that the onset of superconductivity coincides with the appearance of spontaneous magnetic fields, implying that in the superconducting state time-reversal symmetry is broken. An analysis of the possible pairing symmetries suggests only four triplet states compatible with this obs...
